If social or any kind of anxiety keeps impacting on your life, please seek help. There is plenty available (speaking for the UK here, no idea how things are in other countries) and even with tory cuts you can still get help, it just means waiting lists (so do it today and you should be seen within 6 ish weeks)
Also going privately for cognitive behavioral therapy is not THAT expensive if you need urgent help. Your health is something worth throwing money at if you have the means to do so or can save. It can equip you to get yourself out of a catastrophising downward spiral or a panic attack (or both) and has done wonders for many of my family and friends, as has medication, but i recommend that in combination with cognitive behavioral therapy too. Please don't be afraid of it or suspicious, don't take yourself off it either if it's not working for you, go back to the docs with any side effects and they can help again with different meds or a different dosage, etc
Anxiety is an epidemic of modern life and the effects can be physical and crippling. It's NOT all in your head and you're NOT stupid. You don't deserve to suffer, no one does.
